Shogun Japan

Introduction:

The Samurais of Japan were the class of warriors in the 10th century. They were above

the peasants and below the daimyos. Samurai and samurai culture were romanticised since the 18th century. They performed for the Milas in the nobles. Samurai also means Bushi in japanese.









Power:

The samurais backed up the authority and gave power over the emperor. The samurais would be in control of the Japanese government until the Meji Restoration in 1868. The samurais got power in the 12th century between 1101-1200. The samurais had all the power of all the warrior classes, such as daimyos, peasants, and more. The samurais would defend the lord’s area against the rivals. They would battle with the hostile tribes and bandits.












Relationships:

The samurais and the daimyos trusted each other with loyalty, even until death. The samurai's had to protect the peasants since it was their job. The peasants would give them food and money so it was fair to protect them. The samurais paid respect to the emperor since they were the samurais leader. The mearchants werent treated well by the samurais. The artisans were respected well.


Living conditions:

the samurais were emplyed by the daimyos for their skill and to be in order to defeat the lords territories agasint some rivals. they fought enemies from the government, the samurais would aslo battle bandits and tribes. They would have to live in their ow private home, castles or barracks so they wouldnt get noticed and attacked by the government. the samurai would have to live with respect, honesty, loyalty, etc.


Achievements and contribution:

the samurais have alot of contributions for their culture. Their cultural aspect is greater than their achievements in war. They had a good achievement for having a skill of fighting which they used a plethora weapon for fights. They had developed rituals in Japans isolation. Samurais were influenced by Zen Buddhism and it trained samurais to be the one with the sword. Other than fighting, they also learned how to read and to write. That another great achievement for the samurais. Futhermore, they knew how to do maths, make tea ceremonies and how to do art.


Significant challenges:

Samurais had to face many challenges and had to struggle with many things. The samurais were banned from being involved with doing business and/or trade. they struggled with power during Asginkaga and kamakura shogunates. They had a fear of dying from their enemies which made them sturggle with a fear. that they didnt like.
